Q&A: Why BetterSpaces Relies on Finance and Accounting Outsourcing

BetterSpaces focuses on growth and avoids the cost and time required to build and manage their own finance operations by subscribing to AcctTwo’s Managed Accounting Services.

Keith Angell, BetterSpaces’ Co-founder and CFO, was kind enough to sit down with Peter Wagner, AcctTwo’s Director of Marketing, to talk about what led him and BetterSpaces to outsource, rather than build, their finance function.

Understanding the Effects of Employee Fraud on Your Accounting System

John Verver recently wrote an article posted on CFO.com about the top areas of concern with regards to employee fraud. It's a great article, which made us want to draw attention to it, and it also got us thinking about the subject when it comes to what we do here at AcctTwo.

Size Doesn't Matter

I've had many conversations with people about business process outsourcing (BPO) and finance and accounting outsourcing (FAO), and whether a company is either too big or too small for outsourcing to make sense. Some people take the position that smaller companies should outsource, but will get to a certain point where they should really bring their accounting function in-house.

Here's a Head-Scratcher - The Value of Audited Financial Statements

A few weeks ago I wrote a post about the total cost of ownership of your accounting software. As I pointed out, there are many more hidden costs of owning and operating your own enterprise accounting software than many people realize. If you haven't read that post, you might want to read it first, as this post builds on the concepts already introduced there. This post discusses the total cost of ownership of the entire finance and accounting function, including the enterprise accounting software and all the other costs.

Operating in the Fog

One thing about living in Southeast Texas is that you never have to worry about having the same type of weather pattern between October and April. It can be sunny and 80 degrees one day and 45 degrees with a nasty north wind the next day. You never really know what you can expect, so you need to rely on the weatherman or weather sites to help you prepare for the coming days.

Can Your Fantasy Football Team Run Circles Around Your Accounting System?

I love playing Fantasy Football. I’ve been playing it since 1992 when a group of friends got together to form our first league. Honestly, I didn’t understand Fantasy Football, but just being able to hang out with my friends and compete with them was enough to suck me in.
