AcctTwo CEO, Marcus Wagner, One of Houston Business Journal’s Most Admired CEO Honorees

accttwo_transformation_delivered1_250Houston, TX and Milford, CT – AcctTwo, one of the nation’s leading providers of Sage Intacct’s cloud accounting software and of managed accounting services, announced that its CEO, Marcus Wagner, has been named to the 2019 Houston Business Journal’s Most Admired CEO list. Wagner, along with his co-founder and CTO, Brett Michalson, started AcctTwo in 2010. Under Wagner’s leadership, AcctTwo has delivered the future of finance and accounting to more than 800 organizations.

“This is truly a great honor.  It would not be possible without all the support and hard work of mentors, peers, advisors, and colleagues like the ones I have at AcctTwo.  People who are successful are usually surrounded by an amazing cast of superstars that make them look good. That is definitely the case for me,” said Wagner.  “This recognition is more about AcctTwo than anything else and the amazing team of people that I have the privilege to work with every day.”

In selecting the CEO honorees, the Houston Business Journal’s panel of judges looked for characteristics such as contribution to company success, civic involvement, career achievement and more. The Most Admired CEOs are broken up by for-profit and nonprofit categories. The honorees represent several of Houston's prominent industries, with CEOs from major health care systems, development and construction-related firms, financial institutions, energy-related companies and much more — including a professional sports team.

Included in Wagner’s application was a Letter of Recommendation from Phil Morabito, CEO, Pierpont Communications. “A key to Marcus’ success is his constant focus on the future, with the idea that there’s always a better way of doing things. He encourages his team to relentlessly pursue new ideas and new technologies that will continue to disrupt the world of finance and accounting for high growth companies.  Marcus prioritizes the organization’s ethics and integrity above all else, encouraging his team to always do the right thing, even if it’s not in his company’s best interest.”
